micro1 is engaging Senior Book Editors to contribute their expertise to a dynamic customer project focused on elevating editorial standards across diverse manuscripts. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters. This opportunity is ideal for expert editors who have demonstrated excellence working on published books, especially those with experience editing award-winning or bestselling titles. A strong commitment to both written and verbal communication is highly valued, as contributors will be collaborating in a fully remote environment with a focus on impactful editorial contributions.

Scope of Work

1. Review, analyze, and enhance book manuscripts with an emphasis on clarity, narrative structure, voice, and market alignment.
2. Provide detailed editorial feedback and perform advanced line editing, copyediting, and content restructuring as needed.
3. Identify inconsistencies, gaps, or opportunities for improvement in plot, character development, and thematic continuity.
4. Contribute to the creation of editorial guidelines and best practices to inform AI model development.
5. Draft, revise, and polish editorial commentary, ensuring feedback is constructive, actionable, and aligned with high industry standards.
6. Collaborate with project stakeholders by participating in written and verbal discussions to communicate edits and recommendations effectively.
7. Support ongoing quality control by reviewing and refining AI-generated editorial work for accuracy and style.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Extensive experience editing published books for recognized publishing houses or prominent authors.
2. Editorial leadership on books that have achieved notable recognition (e.g., New York Times bestsellers or award-winning titles) is a significant plus.
3. Exceptional command of the English language, grammar, and literary style.
4. Proven ability to deliver incisive, nuanced editorial feedback across genres and formats.
5. Strong collaboration skills with a passion for both written and verbal communication.
6. Comfort working in a remote, tech-enabled environment and adapting to evolving project needs.
7. US-based contributors are preferred, though highly qualified professionals from other locations will be considered.
